Kennett MTB race info
Here's a message from the promotor of tomorrow's race at Kennett. We'll plan to leave at noon from the SH. It occurs to me that you won't have had lunch yet, so you can bring lunch or grab it at a quick stop we'll make on the way.
Hey coaches,
Just a quick FYI, we have been working on a new section of course that will be much safer than previous years (hence no crossing paved roads every lap) The course is a 3/4 mile section of fire road climb followed by 1 1/2 mile sweet, uninterrupted single track. The single track section is fairly difficult because it is still a little soft and with the recent weather, wet. I have calculated lap times and it appears the format will be:
As = 3 laps
Bs = 2 laps
Cs = 1 lap
This gives the As about 40-50 mintues of racing and the Cs a little over 20 minutes of racing. The course is marked very well and the Start / Finish area is now behind the Football field near the back of the school, not by the roadside as was the case last year. If you drive around back the the rear parking lot, you will see the MTB tent, and there will be plenty of parking off to the side.
Thanks again,
Chris Darling, Coach Kennett MTB
