Kenny's been good enough to plan a new ride route from his house in Rutland, so we'll head over there tomorrow for a nice 16 mile loop. Van will leave the SH at 4 pm. Back to Woodstock by 7 pm. VARSITY, JV, Cubs and Kids.
Also, don't forget to pre-reg for your intended races by going to the team website and clicking on the links.
Jack S. and Mika, I need your signed USAC and WBC releases. Please see the links on the website.
Thanks!

website race schedule update
I've updated the team website race schedule link list to now include all of the correct May races. I also realized that we really have 4 groups of riders on the team: Varsity, JV, Cubs (Eli and Brook) and Kids (Jack and Carl), so I've added notations to each race listing to show which groups should enter and which category. Please do take a moment and enter the May races asap as some of the ones where the kids are doing senior category 4 races will fill up quickly.
Thanks and great job everyone at Claremont tonight!

Plan for week of May 2
[I know this is a long email, but please do read the whole thing as it's a busy week of racing and training and there's crucial information here. Thanks!]
Great weekend, especially the weather! Results from the Exeter TT are still being ironed out and they'll be posted soon on www.prepschoolcycling.com, but there's one standout result we've heard of already. Spencer "Bring the Noise" Smith placed well into the top half of the Mens C category in the TT. It's always "quiet" results like this that make attentive coaches lift an eyebrow as what's interesting here is that Spencer is only in 7th grade and was doing his 4th ride (much less race) of the year.
As for Dragons, what an amazing race. Very high quality fields, especially with the juniors, and the best courses in New England hands down. Brendan almost won the criterium with a solo attack and did the same in the road race and even though his stage victories were thwarted by last minute chases, he finished an incredible 4th place overall among some of the best juniors in the entire country. Another huge result for B and it's only May.
But we do have another breakthrough result and that's with Ansel. He had an amazing TT (the race of truth), held strong in the crit and then finished 8th in the very hard road race for an excellent 8th place overall. Great job, Ansel!
Coach had a great race too. 4th in the TT, winner of the crit, winner of the sprint leaders jersey and 2nd overall by 5 seconds. Thanks to the kids (and to Asst. Coach Smith on Sun) for being very independent and allowing me to focus on my racing more than I usually would. Next year, I'd like to bring the whole team to Dragons.
This week's plan:
Monday: Easy kids' ride from the SH at 5 pm. Dirt roads for sure (road bikes and road tires are fine). VARSITY, JV, KIDS
Tuesday: Weekly Twin-State Speedway training race, Claremont, NH is on (weather depending)! We'll have the kids race on the infield go-kart track and then we usually have a B race followed by the A race. THIS IS A GREAT TRAINING RACE FOR EVERYONE ON THE TEAM. Van will leave SH at 4 pm. Norwich kids carpool and meet us down there. Back to Woodstock by 8 pm. VARSITY JV KIDS
Wednesday: Proctor Criterium (prep school race), Louden Speedway, NH. We'll meet at the SH at noon, leave by 12:30 pm. ROSTER DEADLINE IS TODAY (MON)AT MIDNIGHT. ANY KIDS WHO HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO ME VIA EMAIL BY MIDNIGHT TONIGHT THAT THEY'D LIKE TO RACE WILL NOT BE INCLUDED ON THE ROSTER. VARSITY, JV
Thursday: Easy kids' ride from the SH at 5 pm. VARSITY, JV, KIDS
Friday: rest day.
Saturday: train on your own, 1-2 hour ride. VARSITY JV
Sunday: Profile Road Race, meet at SH at 9 am. ROSTER DEADLINE IS THURSDAY AT MIDNIGHT. NO REPLY BY THEN, NO RACE. VARSITY JV KIDS
Thanks, all!
