We're currently in the lull of the cycling season where kids are going in many different directions, attending camps, taking family vacations, etc., but there's still lots of good racing coming up. I've fleshed out the team racing schedule and posted the races and links on the team website (www.kmscyclingteam.com). Here's some further info:
* Don't forget to prereg for Concord next weekend. I'll be watching the confirmed riders list to know who's going.
* There are cross races pretty much every weekend beginning in late Aug and ending with Nationals in early Jan. I'll be adding to our schedule as the races come up on bikereg.
* There's a good mt. bike race tomorrow in KeEne (see the Biking for Bovines race on the sched). Erin is planning on attending.
* Erin and Brendan are planning a Green Mountain Stage Race Road Race recon ride this coming Monday. The plan is to meet at the Rhims' lake house in Ludlow at 8:30am and then drive roughly 40 miles north on route 100 to Hancock to join the GMSR course and then ride the entire 70 mile loop. The Rhims will be driving their van along the course to support the kids if anyone else wants to join them. If you're interested, please contact Lauren Rhim at laurenmorandorhim@gmail.com.
* For anyone wishing to race cyclo-cross, I highly recommend that you attend the Cycle-Smart cross camp the weekend of Aug. 19-21. This camp is great for all ages. I've posted a link to the camp on the race schedule.
* For GMSR, we'll be going back and forth each day from Woodstock. This is a varsity only stage race.
* Don't forget about the Kelly Brush ride on Sept 10. There're distances for everyone. WHEN YOU REGISTER, CHOOSE KILLINGTON MOUNTAIN SCHOOL AS YOUR TEAM unless you have another team that you'd like to ride for. Most of us are going to do the 50 mile ride as a social ride although it would be good if our top riders did the 100 and gave BMA a run for their money!
* Cyclo-cross training races at Harpoon Brewery in Windsor will start within the next couple of weeks. We'll head down, do the race and stay for a burger. All age groups are welcome, but you'll need a cross bike to take part. See my weekly update for details.
Thanks and I hope everyone's having a great summer!
