-Tonight's mt. bike ride is still on. If need be, we'll do an hour in the rain and come back.
-For KMS Juniors doing GMSR, in order to beat Hurricane Irene to the punch, we're going to do a hard hilly road ride tomorrow, Friday, at 2 pm. We'll do three hours or so and be back by 5 pm.
-KMS GMSR recon ride on Saturday will leave SH at 8:00 am (rather than the previously planned 9 am). We'll aim to be back to Woodstock by 3 pm. We'll pick up Erin at Barnard Store at 8:20 am.
- No training ride on Sun due to rain.

Plan for the week
Big congrats for Ansel Dickey and Jim Giller for getting 2nd and 8th, respectively, in their cyclo-cross races yesterday at New England's cross season opener in Springfield, MA. This was Ansel's first cross race ever on his brand new full carbon Cannondale Super X from the Start House and he's already got the cross bug.
Speaking of Ansel, he'll be beginning his junior year at KMS this fall as a full-time, 9-month cycling student athlete. You all know KMS as a great ski school, but, now, KMS will be the only "bike school" I know of in the country where student athletes can structure their classes and course work around their cycling training and racing schedules.
Ansel will be taking part in the full prep school mountain biking league as well as the New England cyclo-cross circuit in the fall and winter, including, if all goes well, cross nats in early January in Madison, WI. After that, he'll follow a strength conditioning program and, of course, winter dirt road riding (WBC's specialty) for late Jan thru mid-March to be followed by the usual New England prep school and USAC sanctioned road seasons culminating with road Nationals in Augusta, GA in June. If anyone knows of other kids who may be interested in KMS's program, please send them my our way.
For this week:
Monday: kids ride at 5 at the SH.
Tues: Cyclo-cross training race at Harpoon Brewery. Van will leave at 5 pm from the SH.
Wed: usual dirt road but meet at 5, leave by 5:15.
Thurs: Mt. bike ride at Aqueduct. Riding by 6 sharp and it would be a good idea to have your light for the last part of the ride.
Friday: TSR
Saturday: KMS team Green Mountain Stage Race climbing stage recon ride. Leave SH at 9 am. Back by 4 pm or so.
Sunday: KMS team GMSR circuit race recon ride. Same timing.
Thanks!
