Great weekend of racing for the KMS team. At Saturday's race at the velodrome in Londonderry, NH, we had Brendan Rhim winning the Juniors with Ansel Dickey in third after a mid-race pile-up. Peter Vollers, Jr. and Alden Suokko were also in the top-10. Coach podiumed with 3rd in the M45 and Erin Donohue had her best result to date in the Pro women just missing the podium in 4th place.
On Sunday's race in Lowell, MA, Peter, Jr. set up Brendan nicely in the Jr. race by attacking after the 1st lap followed by a counter by Brendan sending him into the lead never to be seen again and finishing minutes ahead for a remarkable victory in his 4th cross race ever! Ansel Dickey raced up in the Pros and suffered a bike change, but finished strong. Erin was 13th in a huge Pro women field and a rather tired coach was 5th in the M45.
With the deep workouts at the races this past weekend and with this being a holiday week, we're going to do just one team ride on Tuesday as it's looking like snow on Wed. Here's the plan:
Monday: rest day, individual core workouts
Tues: medium-paced 2 hour ride with hills at threshold. 2 pm
Wed-Thurs: rest days, travel, enjoy, relax, watch football and old movies, sit around, eat tons and don't even think about bike racing for two whole days!
Friday: TSR at 8 am from the SH. KMS team do 45 min to 1 hour indiv. ride with a few openers.
Sat-Sun: Verge Series cross races, Sterling, MA.
Thanks and have a great T-giving everyone!
