racing season is here!
And, presto, we're there: RACING SEASON IS UNDERWAY! This weekend is the Princeton collegiate race. For those new to the program, over the winter, we worked with the USAC's Director of Collegiate and High School Cycling, Jeff Hansen, as well as the race directors and officials involved with the ECCC (Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference) to allow any high school team that is registered as such with USAC to compete in collegiate racing. Pretty exciting as we'll be doing Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth and perhaps the Sunday of the ECCC Championships at UNH in late April.
We'll be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Newton, NJ Friday and Saturday night. Plan is to leave by 4:00 pm on Friday. We'll stop and get dinner on the way to NJ. We'll be home after dinner on Sunday evening.
No need to bring TT equipment as it's not allowed. We will, however, be debuting our new Bontrager Aeolus 5 carbon wheels with the XXX lite tubulars that Dan and I have been gluing up. Sweet wheels and tires.
To confirm, I have Ansel, Erin, Peter and Alden registered.
Cost for the trip will be $150/rider (subsidized by our generous team sponsors), which covers all transport, hotel, three nights of dinners and I'll have some snack food in the van while we're at the races. Be great if everyone could bring a check payable to Woodstock Bicycle Club when they come on Friday. This should be the only race where we'll need to stay at a hotel for a while as we have a place to stay for Yale.
Thanks and wish us luck!
